Indiana on each Maryville grid

Maryville publishes a separate June 2026 licensure grid for each NP route, and Indiana reads the same on all four:

• MSN: FNP, AGPCNP, AGACNP, PMHNP and PNP all “Meets”
• Post-master's certificate: “Meets” for all five concentrations
• DNP with an NP concentration: “Meets” for all five
• BSN-to-DNP: “Meets” for all five

The 2020 status page still on Maryville's site restricts only New York, Louisiana, Oregon and Washington. Whatever your track, the Indiana questions that remain are practical ones: who can precept you and which license you practice on.

The Indiana Board leaves graduate programs alone

Within the Indiana Professional Licensing Agency sits the Indiana State Board of Nursing, which accredits programs that operate in Indiana and prepare students for initial RN or LPN licensure. RN-BSN programs aren't reviewed or accredited by the Board, and neither are “any graduate level nursing programs,” in the Board's words. 848 IAC 1-2-4, the Board's eligible-programs rule, is limited to pre-licensure RN and PN programs.

Nothing we found requires Board approval when out-of-state programs at the graduate or RN-to-BSN level place students in Indiana. On that reading, a Maryville NP placement there doesn't wait on an Indiana filing. Confirm with Maryville anyway, and remember that a hospital may still bring its own contract in place of Maryville's; see the MOU.

Collaborative agreements and your preceptor

AANP rates Indiana as reduced practice: an Indiana NP must have a physician collaborator under a regulated agreement that reaches at least one element of practice. That agreement is routine and has no bearing on whether an NP can teach you.

Maryville's test is the one that decides. It accepts an APRN, MD or DO with board certification, at least a year in practice and an unencumbered license in their own state, and it rules out relatives, supervisors and direct work colleagues. The physician on the other side of an NP's collaborative agreement can qualify too if board certified. Your RN license for Indiana hours

Indiana's Nurse Licensure Compact implementation took effect July 1, 2020. Keep your home-state multistate license unencumbered and it covers Indiana clinical hours, which is what Maryville's license rule asks. The APRN Compact is a separate matter: Indiana hasn't enacted it, and it can't operate until seven states have.

The border cuts the other way for Illinois residents. Illinois sits outside the compact with no bill pending to join, so an Illinois license doesn't reach an Indiana clinic, and you'd need an Indiana license. Indianapolis, Fort Wayne and two border metros

Indiana's large systems include Community Health Network and Indiana University Health, along with Franciscan Health, Parkview Health and Ascension St. Vincent. Treat them as a starting map for your search; none has told us it takes Maryville students.
