Finding your own preceptor

This is the route Maryville is built around. Its welcome page makes the search the student's job, and its 2026 blog argues that running it yourself builds a professional network you'll keep after graduation. It works best when you already know clinicians outside your own chain of command, or your employer has a department where you'd be off the clock and not supervised by a colleague.

Asking for Maryville's placement assistance

Maryville deserves credit here. It advertises preceptor placement assistance, lists clinical placement assistance among its program features, and its 2026 blog mentions preceptor mentors who can step in to secure a preceptor if needed. Graduates quoted in that post describe help confirming a preceptor's credentials and pointers to places to look. When your own search stalls, it's the natural next call.

Maryville is also candid about the limits. The same post is plain that the assistance isn't the place to start, citing high demand, and no public page describes how to request it, how quickly it moves, or promises a placement.
